Year of The Human is a unique neo-soul/ indie folk band that’s steeped in funk, blues, and jam band concepts. Dreamy, playful, and as dynamic as the human experience itself, Year of The Human has a swampy twang, a funky groove, and a complex palate of sound that is lush, life-giving, and bold, leaving listeners invigorated, inspired, and dancing. This world-inspired folk project employs ambient music concepts alongside playful jazzy blues-style vocals to create vignettes of sound that transport listeners to a realm beyond reason. While the project is playful with its instrumental experimentation, each song is centered around meaningful lyrics and distinct melodies that connect deeply with each member. The band was formed in December 2017 and originally started as a duo named Year of The Dog.
